The last two years have presented severe challenges for young people in Wales trying to access the labour market. The pandemic has disrupted so many areas of a young person’s life, from education and social affairs to mental health and employment opportunities.

Although the pandemic has greatly affected us all in one way or another, there’s no doubting the fact that our younger generations have been affected the most.

That’s why we are thrilled to be delivering the new programme Jobs Growth Wales+, bringing to life the Welsh governments Young Person’s Guarantee, which promises everyone under the age of 25 the offer of support to gain access to education, training or to find employment.

This new programme will be integral to the young people we support at Llamau who are considered the furthest away from the labour market and have struggled with severe challenges and traumas that have stemmed from childhood.

Llamau will deliver Jobs Growth Wales through our Step into programmes, which aim to help boost a young person’s confidence, skills and qualifications, with a view to progressing into sustainable, long term future employment. Something that without our support and programmes like Jobs Growth Wales+ a percentage of young people in Wales would not be able to achieve.

Our programmes are young person centred and run by qualified tutors who are experts in their field. Our approach focuses on developing core areas of a young person’s life from soft skills and wellbeing to education and employment. Find out more about our programmes here.
